It's the weekend!!!

Good Saturday Morning!

I just wanted to take a moment to bask in my Saturday. The absolute quiet, a great cup of coffee and my laptop. It is heaven. But my heaven is being clouded this morning because I am making the necessary preparation's for the day. But let me back up and give you the story!
As you can probably tell by my post time its is way too early to be up especially on a Saturday morning. My husband looked at me when the alarm went off with pure evil in his eyes. Of course he wanted to know why the alarm was set at 5 am, because it is the weekend, although he knows why. What I am failing to mention here is that the weekends are his break from long hours of military service. I do understand his, " I haven't even rolled out of the bed crankiness", but I know he will survive. So it comes to the reason for early risers and the other reason why my youngest trys to make plans for time she hears the words H20, fresh fruit, and Aleve......Fast Pitch Softball.

My oldest daughter plays on one of the "infamous" travel teams. Oh to the world of teenage drama and parent angst. Don't get me wrong, we love to watch her play, I really do. Getting up early has nothing to do with the hesitancy. I never thought I would be at the point in our lives when I actually wanted to be anti-social with my child's friends. Kids sports should be played hard and with a prescription readily available for all parents. And you may wonder that the drug is...my vote VALIUM!!  YAHOO!!

Youth sports turn parents into mutants of their prior self. I really shouldn't say that but as I like to say it is what it is. I have watched a wonderful, sweet, caring, elementary school teacher sprout horns, scream obscenities, (what I really think is she is suffering from what I like to call softball Turret's Syndrome) and turn into a monster. Softball Turret Syndrome aka STS should be confused with SOS because at that given point when a parent is afflicted we are definitely in need of major help. And why do we do it......just to cheer our kids on. I think?.... Its as if some of us didn't really get out what we needed to in our youth, well I have advice for that go play adult rec sports. With  others, I think that they just follow the other parents push and succumb to what I call adult fear pressure. This is defined as trying to have the last word with the umpire.  It is a nightmare. All the fighting, arguing, excessive drama, the he said she said, oh and the whispers. I love whispers!! They come from, oh your child got more play time than mine, or oh did you know that they socialize with the coach and oh I love this one ; the coach promised us!! If the coach promised you anything than I have to admit he's the biggest moron of all. But the best part about all of this is that did I forget to tell you we are out there to cheer our kids on, seeing them through their rises and falls and cheer them to victory and cushion their losses.  Yes we are out there to watch softball, cheer those impressionable ladies on, and show them good sportsmanship. That is what I wish was happening but hey let me step back into reality because as I said when your child plays team sports it shifts into another dimension,  truly quite twilight zoning, but hey it is what it is!

Wish Us Luck or I Mean Wish Her LUCK!!!:)
