Commissary Deals ....Oktoberfest Celebration...9 September - 22 September 2010

Okay....here it is... the current promotions from the Commissary. I decided to do something a little bit different with the sale items list this promotion. I have only posted on items that have a printable coupon available online. The reason being is that everyone receives different inserts based on their location and it makes it very difficult for me to reference a coupon from Smartsource or Redplum that you may not have received. I wanted to try to create a harmony with this and I hope that maybe I have succeeded.

Another important note is that you are not aloud to post or publish any form of Commissary prices. As you can see I have given the item description, size, and item quantity ONLY! Another change is that  I have only researched the national promotions that are available to everyone. Coleson's Seafood Honors Military through Commissary Promotions

As I was doing some research for this week's Commissary sales, I stumbled upon ColesonFoods, Inc. They are a seafood and frozen fish supplier for the Commissary. I wanted to note and recognize this company, because they offer special promotions and coupons specifically for Commissary shoppers.

Comissary Deals for the Brown Bagging It Campaing 12 August 2010 through 25 August 2010

Okay so here is the situation with the Commissary deals....I cannot publish, post or specify exact commissary prices on the web, but I can compile a list of current sales items, show you where to find the coupons and give a round about estimate of cost...per commissary guidelines. These are new postings so I am going to be very careful so that I can provide the right information to my readers, but not violate any rules in regards to the Commissary. Please be patient with me as this is a work in progress, but I really hope that everyone will benefit!

One other note that I want to add. I have also included a Commissary Coupon Policy, which I hope will help with alot of the Commissarries becoming much stricter with coupons.

Coupon Policy- Directly from Fort Lee, Virginia

In general, in accordance with DeCA Directive (DeCAD) 40-6, all commissaries



will accept manufacturer coupons (which you obtain through newspaper


inserts, from tear pads at the shelf, from magazines, etc.) and


print-at-home Internet coupons, as long as they meet the following


requirements:

A. They must state coupon.


B. They must contain a message to the retailer specifying the terms and


conditions for accepting the coupons.


C. They must have a redemption address.


D. They must state the purchase requirements, e.g., "Coupon good on any


size purchase of. . .," or "Coupon good on the purchase of two cans of. ..,"


etc.


E. They must have a specially stated face value, e.g., "50 cents" or an "up


to" or "no more than" value, etc.


F. They are not expired.


G. Internet coupons cannot be accepted for free products, however, "Buy One


Get One Free" coupons can be accepted if they meet all the requirements


above.


H. Internet coupons must contain a typical barcode. The coupon has to have


a barcode as the cashiers are required to scan all Internet coupons. In


addition, the coupon must have EITHER a PIN (the numbers under the bar code)


OR a Dot Scan Barcode located under the expiration date. If the Internet


coupon has a barcode with the PIN, then it does not have to also have the


Dot Scan Barcode.


We also do not accept photocopies of any coupons. If they are printed off


the Internet, they must be an original print in either color or black and


white.


We frequently send notices of known counterfeit coupons to the commissaries;


the commissaries are not allowed to accept any of these coupons, regardless


of where they came from. If  you question the commissary's refusal to accept a coupon based on it

beingcounterfeit, they should be able to show you the notice.


Coupons with a business name or logo on them are typically "store" coupons


redeemable only at the business specified. Each coupon must be individually


evaluated; however, if the coupon does state it is a "manufacturer coupon"


and does not have any other redemption language limiting use solely to the


business advertised, the commissary can accept it.

Okay so here is the deal....My kiddos love Bagel Bites, but they don't offer coupons very often. So when I come across coupons for them I grab them up....I will nag to get others to print them off for me. Here is the reason why: Bagel Bites at local grocery stores run around $4.00 for a 9ct package. Whereas at the Commissary, I can score these for only a few pennies with this coupon. My goal is to stock pile the Bagel Bites. I feel my OCD coming out, but hey its Bagel Bites! They make great snacks ,and even when the hour demands it, a light lunch. A great place to score an almost free product and I mean only pennies is at the Commissary. The 9 ct. Bagel Bites pepperoni product is very inexpensive when combined with this coupon. Because I cannot disclose Commissary prices, I have to be rather vague. Like I said though, you can score these for only pennies. So hurry over here and score you coupons.

It has been brought to my attention that there are alot of inconsistencies with the coupon policy at the Commissary. Don't get me wrong I do really love the Commissary and the great deals that they provide to military personnel and their families. I just want to clarify that before I continue with my gripe!

  I know that over the past few months every time I shop at the Commissary the rules seem to change or that they are just made up as that "special cashier" sees fit. Unfortunately I am ashamed to say that I refer to that "special cashier" as the Coupon Nazi..(You know who you are.) Literally there is nothing so aggravating as having to take almost 45 minutes to check out because some of the cashiers go through each and every coupon like they are counterfeit currency. Hey I get it! But what I don't get is that I'm not the one who is passing the bad coupon. ( It sounds like a child's game ...who has the button,,,oh I mean bad coupon.) "A Bad Coupon" in all honesty is rather funny because hey its a "coupon". Over a year ago I would have laughed my butt off because my mindset was who uses a coupon, but now I really take this personally. If you are counterfeiting coupons stop because it is making my life and countless others HELL!  There is nothing that I like to do better than spend 45 minutes of haggling for a $1 off a loaf of bread that is a legitimate coupon and the cashier is looking at me like I'm some misrepresented housewife who missed her lawyer calling. Yes that's right, I'm ashamed to say it but I must take a stand for the $1 coupon. Why you ask ....well after the time that I have put in to find that coupon, cut it, file it, pull it back out, spend two hours at the commissary...another nightmare in itself on a Wednesday (don't ask), and then to wait for 45 minutes in line for someone to question did you really buy that item and no we aren't going to accept it, my response is AAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!  Yeah to be honest it pisses me off. I apologize for swearing but hey lets tell it like it is. At the Commissaries they are really taking this seriously. But what they are failing to realize is that the ones of us that actually work hard to find these coupons and use legitimate coupons are the ones paying for the other ones who are scamming.

 But today I have had it!!! I have emailed the Commissary today and tomorrow I will call until someone can provide me the info I am looking to find. How sad  it is that when Itry to save money and be conservative, I feel as if I am being punished. What a shame but as I said maybe I have missed my calling because one way or another I am going to get to the bottom of the Commissary Coupon Policy!
